It's a . . .

As I have mentioned a few posts back, Mr. A and I are expecting our first little cupcake this December. On Thursday I had my 20-week ultrasound to determine the sex of this jumping bean. To announce the sex of our baby we threw a barbecue today with all our family and friends; to tell them we made Bakerella's famed cupcake pops (excluding the sticks this time) with the cake being the color of the baby. Wanna find out?! Then, stop looking and scroll down!

Rutger's University Cupcakes

This weekend we had an order from my Aunt and Uncle for their Rutger's Alumni Association Party, it was the party of the summer and it was fantastic! They had food booths setup and they made one for my cupcakes! They ordered 120 red velvet cupcakes and I free handed a few cookies to add a little university flare.

Recent Bakes!

I am really trying to post pictures. I spent the weekend baking six different varieties for three wedding tastings. It was fun and the first time in over a month that I baked, I have to admit that Jim's co-workers have been worried about me since I haven't been baking. I have to sum the lack of baking up to the heat trapped in my house from not having central air and being nearly five months pregnant. The baking break is about to come to an end as I have a HUGE order for Rutger's University cupcakes this weekend and a few upcoming weddings.

Graduation Cake

This cake was made for Taylor's High School graduation from Poway High in June (I told you I was behind!). The cake was a marble cake with a chocolate buttercream covered in white fondant. I also made green velvet cupcakes with vanilla bean cream cheese frosting adorned with chocolate sprinkles and plastic caps. I loved the diploma and cap on the cake the best, even though I have since learned that next time I paint with food coloring I need to use lemon extract or vodka because it dries faster, there's a great tip for all you bakers out there!
